Education and Background
Dr. Eamon Bernardoni’s academic training began in Biomedical Engineering, focusing on orthopedic design and biomechanics. After completing his master’s degree in engineering, he continued on to complete both medical school and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, WI. During his final year of residency, he was elected as Chief resident to serve as a mentor and leader for his fellow residents. He is passionate about continuing to pursue educational activities to keep his practice on the leading edge of the rapidly advancing medical field. Dr. Bernardoni takes great pride in knowing his patients are receiving state of the art, compassionate, medical care in his hometown of Darlington, WI.
Medical Interests
Dr. Bernardoni is interested in cutting edge technology for joint replacement, including robotic assisted surgery for total knee and total hip replacement. Dr. Bernardoni also performs total hip replacement surgery and is comfortable with both anterior and posterior approaches. In addition, he also has extensive arthroscopic experience for both knee and shoulder joint surgeries. Taken together, Dr. Bernardoni is able to care for a breadth of adult and pediatric patients populations with a range of conditions from arthritis to sports medicine – or work – related injuries and traumas. He also has a special research interest in additive manufacturing (3D printing) and its uses in orthopedic surgery, both elective and fracture care.
Personal Interests
Dr. Bernardoni enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. His family is active in the outdoors with hunting, fishing, and gardening. In his spare time, he enjoys home DIY projects, woodworking, metal fabrication, and playing the piano.
