Education & Background
After completing advanced training at both the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic, Dr. Daniel Stormont was certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He has continued educational activities to keep his practice on the leading edge of the ever-changing medical field. Stormont takes great pride in knowing that his patients are receiving state of the art, compassionate care right here in Darlington.

Medical Philosophy:
While surgical intervention plays an important role in orthopaedic care, Dr. Stormont believes every patient must understand the alternatives to surgery, which may often result in as good or even better results without the risks. In the event that surgery is in fact recommended, Dr. Stormont practices the most up-to-date procedural techniques with the most advanced equipment to minimize risks and improve recovery time. Dr. Stormont is a patient advocate and promises to do everything he can for his patients.
Medical Interests
Dr. Stormont has been on the cutting edge of joint replacement for knee and hip arthritis. This includes minimal incision, muscle sparing, and biologic fixation using computer modeling and guidance.
He has extensive arthroscopic experience. Besides arthritis, Dr. Stormont also specializes in treating sports injuries and industrial or work-related injuries.
Personal Interests
Dr. Stormont enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and outdoor activities including prairie restoration and hiking. He is very proud of his Scottish heritage and is a pipe major in two different bagpipe bands. He enjoys performing at many different venues for charity. Dr. Stormont also enjoys actively participating in community and area fundraisers for children.
