Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County (MHLC) is proud to announce two new programs recently implemented by our team of physical therapists in our Rehabilitation Department. Stephanie Jackson-PT, Katie Larson-PT and Marcy Christensen-PT, will be giving an informational inservice on these new programs on Wednesday April 14th, at 6 p.m. in the MHLC conference room.

Our Lymphedema program includes massage, bandaging, exercise and skin care treatments to help control the swelling of an extremity. Those who may benefit from Lymphedema Therapy include those who have developed swelling of an arm or leg following: surgery (total hip, total knee or especially women following a mastectomy), radiation, cancer, trauma or burns, infections, and anyone with chronic swelling of an arm or leg. People born with a congenital defect of the lymphatic system will also benefit from this therapy.

The Incontinence program includes therapeutic techniques personally designed to minimize and even eliminate bowel and bladder incontinence. Many people, men and women alike, are affected by incontinence and tend to put their lives on hold due to their symptoms. This program may allow you to enjoy life again, and is often times covered by insurance and Medicare.

Ask your medical provider today if you could benefit from either of these new programs at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County, we truly do treat you like family! For more information on these programs or the inservice, please call 608.776.5744
