The Memorial Healthcare Foundation Grants & Career Development Committee have selected five recipients for healthcare scholarships and one employee grant in 2010.  These recipients exemplified educational and community requirements.  The following received $1000 awards on July 20th during the quarterly MHF Board of Directors meeting.

The Memorial Healthcare Foundation is sponsoring a bus trip to the Madison Overture Center’s presentation of the Broadway show “Wicked” on Saturday October 9th.  Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other girls met in the Land of Oz, and Wicked is the untold story of the witches of Oz.  Upper Orchestra seating in Overture Hall and roundtrip coach bus fare is included with your ticket, with buses leaving the Darlington Elementary Middle School at 9 am.  This will give you time to shop or eat on Madison’s State Street before the 2 p.m.

Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County (MHLC) Outpatient Clinic proudly announces new services from Dr. Paul Bekx. As an endocrinologist, Dr. Bekx treats disorders of the endocrine system, which include endocrine glands and the hormones they secrete. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he completed a family practice residency.

The H1N1 virus is the topic of all health care news, and Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County wants to be proactive to help keep our community healthy. We are asking all in the community to limit visitation with inpatients, and if you are ill, please refrain from visiting. We are here for you if you need medical care. And if you are seeking care for flu related symptoms or complications, please use our ER entrance where we can greet you and proper precautions will be provided.

Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County is proud to announce expanded parking for your convenience.  Entrance to the hospital after 5:30 p.m. will now be through our emergency room (ER) located on the Lucy Street end of our building, with ample parking for patients and visitors.  Please follow signage directions, as they will guide you to the proper entrances.  And to help keep our community healthy, please continue to limit visits during flu season.
