What could be better than having your "New Beginning" right here, close to home? Our spacious, home-like birthing suites are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and at the same time will offer our families every comfort of home. These birthing suites are also called "LDRP Suites," short for Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum—the four phases of childbirth. You may deliver your baby in this suite and then remain comfortable there with your baby until you go home.  The large "New Beginning" birthing suites offer a private bathroom, whirlpool tub, shower, a glider/rocker, dining area, cable TV, refrigerator, sofa sleeper, and all of the extra comforts of home.

"I enjoyed the beautiful suites, exclusive from the rest of the hospital, the suites were large enough to fit our whole family. It was nice not to have to leave my room for any reason!"  ~ Molly

Peace of Mind

Our competent, highly trained physicians and staff will move around mom and baby. Medical supplies are located out of sight, but within reach. The equipment and staff move, not the mother and baby. The nursing staff at Memorial Hospital is trained in Neonatal Resuscitation, and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Care and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics.

Our goal is for the family to have the most comfortable and memorable birthing experience possible. During your stay the Families First Home Visitor will present the family with a baby quilt, diapers and the book "What to Expect the First Year".  On the last day of your stay a candle light meal is provided by our dietary department.   Let Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County be apart of your 'New Beginning".

"With not much time to spare, our twins were born at MHLC. The staff was great and we loved the birthing suites!"  ~ Valerie

Childbirth Education Classes

MHLC offers Childbirth Education Classes. Your childbirth experience begins months before the baby is due and long after you have left the hospital. For more information see "New Parent Support" page or call 608-776-5822.

"I have been working in Madison for the past 14 years.  I always knew when it was time to decide where I would deliver our babies there was no doubt in my mind that it would be MHLC." ~ Jody
